Summer Sunday Worship at Wabanna

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I pray this letter finds you walking in the joy of the Lord as you meditate on the eternal mercy given to us who believe in Christ (Tit 3:5). All of life, including all of ministry, is an unfathomable mercy from God (1 Pet 1:3; 2 Cor 4:1)! As I recall the encouraging service we had this past Sunday, I am reminded once again of how loving, good, and kind our Lord has been to us, both eternally and temporally (Ps 119:68). We truly have been given every spiritual blessing in Christ and have every...

Adjusting the BBC Ministry Schedule for the Next Few Weeks

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, We praise the Lord for how gracious He has been in providentially protecting all of us through this pandemic (1 Thess 5:16-17). As I have said many times, these days are unprecedented in our lifetime, but nothing has taken our Lord by surprise (Jn 13:19 cf. Ps 139:4). We must never forget that Yahweh is the Alpha and the Omega (Rev 1:8; 22:13) and that He declares the end from, and even before, the beginning (Isa 46:8-10). He forms light and creates darkness, and He makes well-being while also creating calamity (Isa 45:6-7). For as the...

Summer Worship at Wabanna Beginning this Sunday, June 20th

This summer, while our bathrooms are being remodeled at Belcroft, we will take advantage of the beautiful setting we have at Camp Wabanna (101 Likes Rd, Edgewater, MD 21037) and hold our Sunday worship services out at the pavilion as we did last summer. We will begin this summertime worship service schedule this Sunday, June 20th (bathroom renovations begin June 21st!), and we will be changing our service time to 10:00am to allow a little extra time for those who will be traveling out from further away. As we have done in the past, please plan to bring a lawn...

From the Pastor’s Heart – June 19, 2020

Fellow Slaves of Christ, The last few weeks we have been reminded through the Scriptures of how to respond rightly in a world gone wrong. One of the blessings we have seen in our study is how God has graciously given under shepherds to lead, guide, and guard His people especially during times of suffering, chaos, and peril (1 Pet 5:1-4). I want you to know how thankful I am for our elders and for the faithfulness they have displayed in leading us through this most difficult time in church history (1 Thess 5:12-13). These men have been proactively leading us...

Do You Know The Greatest Danger Now Facing BBC?

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I pray this letter finds you walking in the joy of the Lord with a heart full of gratitude for all the goodness our great God has lavished on us in Christ (Rom 5:1-11). Never forget and never get over (2 Cor 5:14-15) the incalculable riches enjoyed by all believers through the eternal gospel of God (Eph 1:3-4)! Like you, I am eagerly anticipating a time when we can all publicly regather for corporate worship as we are commanded by God and as we desperately need (Heb 10:23-25). Each week, we inch closer as a community...
